Chris Perrine / Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Chris was one of six co-inventors of the Active Shooter Protection System (ASPS) while serving as an officer in the United States Air Force, subsequently licensing the ASPS patent from the USAF and founding Protective Innovations to make effective, affordable gunshot detection technology a reality. As Chief Executive Officer, Chris is responsible for general management of the company, strategy and product development.

Chris holds a BS in Aerospace (magna cum laude) and an MS in Engineering Management, with an MBA in progress. Chris is a proven leader, with significant experience in operations management, project management and technology development, as well as government acquisitions and contracting from more than a decade spent as an officer in the Air Force. Previously, Chris was a Program Manager on the DOD’s F-35 Joint Strike Fighter development program, where he was responsible for developing a portfolio of cutting-edge aerospace technology. Chris is additionally a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and FAA certificated Commercial Pilot.

Chris Jones / Business Development & Intelligence

Christopher Jones is the Chief of Strategy and Business Intelligence for Protective Innovations. With a background in economics, statistics and business, Christopher is able to use advanced modeling techniques to provide the company with data based analysis. An expert in pricing econometrics and competitive analytics, he synthesizes information to create company level strategies and execution plans. Chris received his BS in Economics from Baylor University.

As a business consultant of over 15 years, Christopher’s portfolio includes clients in diverse sectors of business such as textile manufacturing, hotel and tourism development, emerging technologies, geospatial imaging and political fundraising. A firm believer in the mission of Protective Innovations, Christopher joined the company to make a difference in the lives of those who could be affected by gun violence. When not at work, he can be found sailing the Caribbean and the West Indies.

Timothy Mathisen / Sales

Tim leads Protective Innovation’s sales and business development efforts, leveraging his previous sales experience in the public safety products sector. An alumnus of Lipscomb University, Tim holds degrees in Criminal Justice Administration and Conflict Management, and is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Aviation Safety and Security at Middle Tennessee State University. He brings additional leadership experience to the team as a US Military officer and UH-60 Blackhawk pilot. Tim was a key player in the founding of Protective Innovations. Tim led the company’s engagement with Middle Tennessee State University, helping to secure startup capital through University’ Pam Wright Chair in Entrepreneurship.

On a personal note, Tim was a member of the United States Marine Corps Reserve unit in Chattanooga, TN which suffered an active shooter attack, claiming the lives of five servicemembers, in July 2015. While he was not present on the morning of the attack, this personal connection gives Tim special passion to protect his fellow service members and the public at large from such atrocities.
